Austrian Advertising Market Study - expenditure
The annual overviews for the years 2015 to 2023 show the advertising channels Austrian businesses have turned to in order to reach consumers and how much they have spent. Amounts are in euro and have been rounded up or down. They include expenses for creation, production, publication, and distribution of the advertising channel in question.
In 2023, advertising expenditures reached a new record of 7.4 billion euros.
In 2020, Austrian businesses spent more than 6.5 billion euro on advertising, which is a 10% decrease caused by COVID-19.
In 2018, businesses once again spent more on advertising than in the previous year: 7.1 billion euro is an increase by 2 percent.
In 2015, Austrian businesses spent a total of 6.5 billion euros on advertising and marketing activities.
In 2021, there was a surprising increase in advertising spending. It reached EUR 7 billion, which is almost the record number of 2019.
In 2019, Austrian businesses spent more than 7.3 billion euro on advertising.
In 2017, Austrian businesses spent more than 7 billion euros on advertising and marketing activities, which is a 3 percent increase.
In 2016, Austrian businesses spent a total of 6.8 billion euros on advertising and marketing activities, which is a 5 percent increase.
