We welcome young talent and offer them an exciting entry-level position in IT as well as the opportunity to explore different areas.

Do you already have basic coding skills and would you like to expand your expertise in a hands-on environment? The IT Academy is a unique training programme by Austrian Post.

For 11 months, you will have the option to work in three different IT teams. You will certainly not be observing, but have a hands-on experience! You will be a fully integrated member of all your teams, working on exciting projects and innovative products, and actively contributing your ideas and solutions.

What positions are available at the IT Academy and what tasks do they involve?

 

As an enthusiastic coder, you already have basic knowledge of C# and .Net and are responsible for the design of new software components and the development of solutions. You will also be involved in analysing and estimating costs and implementing requirements based on the defined software architecture. You will also ensure that suitable libraries, frameworks and tools are used and that coding guidelines are adhered to.

Do believe in being better safe than sorry? As a tester, you will be responsible for defining, developing, and implementing (automated) test cases and will ensure the functionality of internal software. You have basic programming knowledge and are motivated to expand your IT expertise. Your assets include a high sense of quality, meticulousness, and lots of curiosity.

Are you an organisational genius with basic technical knowledge? As a Business Engineer, you oversee IT projects and never lose sight of the big picture. You conduct business analyses and are responsible for identifying and developing requirements for software solutions. In this role, you maintain close contact with development teams and serve as the technical point of contact. Additionally, you support the analysis, maintenance, and optimisation of existing IT systems. Commitment and initiative are second nature to you.

 

Are you an organisational genius with basic technical knowledge and initial experience in project management? As an IT Project Manager, you will take on responsibility for IT projects. You will oversee these projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from the initial idea and planning stages to execution. In doing so, you will interact with various stakeholders within Austrian Post and coordinate closely with the relevant teams.

Coding and infrastructure are inseparable for you? As a DevOps Engineer, you work on automating infrastructures and processes. You are responsible for creating seamless CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery or Deployment) pipelines and IaC (Infrastructure as Code) templates. Additionally, you have programming skills, particularly in C#, and have already gained some experience with Azure.

Do you enjoy the language of data? For you, making realistic predictions has nothing to do with fortune-telling and everything to do with using the right analytical methods. You already have some previous experience with Python or R. Big Data is also familiar to you, as you have worked with databases before. As a data scientist, you build models, conduct analyses, and work with various types of data (structured, unstructured, batch, stream, etc.). A strong interest in new technologies is one of your main assets.

SAP – does that sound more than familiar to you? You have already gained some experience with the ABAP programming language and have become acquainted with various SAP modules (e.g., FI, CO, HCM, MM, etc.). As a Junior Developer in the SAP field, you assist with analyses and effort estimations and implement requirements in the existing SAP modules. Additionally, you ensure compliance with coding guidelines.
