Red Lightning – Graz-Köflacher Bahn, class VT 10
This year’s artwork for our engraved stamp in our “Railways” series is the legendary “Red Lightning”, a railcar built by Graz-Köflacher Bahn (GKB) in the 1950s.
Given their red colour and their relative speed, these railbusses with an extra carriage were soon called “Red Lightning”. There were in service until the 1990s and the “Red Lightning” can now be hired for heritage trips.
