Featured Special-Issue Stamp, April 2019
"I love you" stamp
What do Ovid, Wolfang Amadeus Mozart, John Lennon, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Karl Marx have in common? Well, they all wrote passionate love letters, albeit in wholly different times. The aforementioned gentlemen are just a few famous examples of those countless people, obviously also including women, who have relied on love letters to express their feelings.
And, honestly, there is nothing better than a personal, handwritten love letter, whether it's in the form of a poem or simply a declaration of love in simple words. This holds true to this day and it might be even more relevant than ever in these digital times.
Our miniature sheet "I love you" is exactly such a stamp with an unequivocal message both in pictures and words. However, the message on the stamp doesn't only apply to romantic love or traditional love letters, but it's also a great option to show friends and family how much you care.
A unique aspect of this miniature sheet is that is can be used both for domestic mail (standard value at 80 cents) and, together with a 10-cent stamp, as postage for items sent to countries in the European Union. Austrian Post is offering the two main rate categories combined on a miniature sheet for the very first time. As a matter of course, both stamps can also be used separately. Whether you use them as postage for a postcard to your best friend, a mothers' day card or a love letter, both motifs with these heartfelt messages will bring joy to anybody who receives them.
When? 24 April 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., stamp presentation at 10:00 a.m.
