New Stamp Issue, 3 March 2018
Miniature sheet "Definitive stamps 1863/64", "Classic edition" series
A decision made by the German-Austrian Postal Association to the effect that the most commonly used stamps have the same colour in all participating postal areas required the issue of a new series of stamps shortly after the previous issue. The engraver was once again Josef Tautenhayn. The white double-headed eagle of the 1863 and 1863 definitive stamps is now shown in a colourful oval frame with a geometrical pattern. The currency is indicated on the top of the stamp and the value, on the bottom.
On the day of issue, the special post office will be cancelling this special-issue stamp with the special first-day postmark.
When? 3 March 2018, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (stamp presentation: 10:00 a.m.)
Where? Stadtwerke-Hartberg Arena, Wiesengasse 43, 8230 Hartberg
