International Letter Mail Plus is a moderately priced delivery option. To use this service, the following criteria must be met:

A minimum of 20 letters per batch (additional charge for missing items possible)
EUR 15 or up per batch (including any additional services)
Completed posting list based on our Österreichische Post template
Postage paid with Österreichische Post franking impression

Total price = (number of units x rate per unit) + (total weight in kg x rate per kilo)

Priority means that we will ship your letter mail items by air or by whichever means of transporta-tion is fastest. Priority items are given preferential treatment both in the country of posting and the county of destination. The average delivery time within Europe is 2 to 4 days and 3 to 7 days for other countries. Use our priority stickers to label your items on the address side. These stickers are available free of charge at any Österreichische Post service location.

Economy is our inexpensive shipping option for international mail items that are not time-sensitive. Delivery times vary depending on the country.}

You can mail newspapers and magazines to other countries as International Letter Mail Plus items.

Requirements:

Pursuant to our GTC, newspapers and magazines are eligible for shipping as daily, weekly and monthly publications
Newspapers and magazines are posted by publishers or editors.

Talk to our staff at an Österreichische Post service location near you to learn which inserts can be sent along with newspapers and magazines.

If certain requirements are met, newspapers, magazines, books, brochures, music scores and maps can be posted as M-Bags. Invoices, delivery notes, copies of order forms for books and loose notes may be added.

Requirements:

May be posted at Österreichische Post service locations only
The bags must be tied with a cord or strap that comes off easily and is easy to attach after having been removed
Highly resistant tag for the address, which needs to include the following information: the re-cipient's address, postage, total weight of the bag and information about additional services, if any.

Our international reply mail is an excellent option for reaching out to potential clients and staying in touch with existing clients. It can be included in direct mailing campaigns as response elements (letters or cards). International reply mail is free of charge for recipients, which ensures high response rates. You will only be charged for items that have actually been returned. Please note that a deferred payment agreement with Österreichische Post is required. As an alternative, a PO box must be indicated as the recipient. International reply mail is a standardized process and is thus available world-wide. Templates for international reply mail are available in the download section.

International letter mail rates apply to letters and newspapers sent to and from military post offices abroad (Priority, zone "Rest of Europe").

Currently, three military post offices are in operation:

1502 AUTCON EUFOR (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
1503 AUTCON KFOR (Kosovo)
1504 AUTCON UNIFIL (Lebanon)

Additional service available: registered mail

Braille publications, sound recordings, special papers for Braille publications and any other accessory designed to master difficulties related to blindness intended solely for the use of blind people, provided that they are sent by or addressed to an officially recognised institute for the blind or a blind person may be posted as literature for the blind if the following criteria are met:

Items must be sent unsealed
Items must be identified as "Cécogramme – Envois pour les aveugles " in the postage area
Items must include the information “do not postmark” if no additional services are required.

Items sent as literature for the blind may not include any notes, personal documents or documents with personal information. They may not include previously postmarked stamps, stamps in mint condition or other items of value. Literature for the blind is free of postage with the exception of additional services.

Available additional services: registered mail, advice of receipt, deliver to addressee in per-son, cash-on-delivery.

Additional services are supplementary services for which the value added tax depends on the main service. If the main service is subject to VAT, the total service including the additional service is subject to VAT as well.

Additional Services

Here you will find suitable additional services for sending letters abroad. These additional services are only available in conjunction with the Priority transport service:

Use our inexpensive additional service "simple registered mail" to benefit from item tracking for your item from the time of posting in Austria all the way to delivery in the country of destination. Your item number allows you to track the status of your item on post.at to many different destinations. "Simple registered mail" is an inexpensive alternative to "registered mail", provided that you do not need the recipient to sign for the item. The item will be delivered via a scan, which means that the recipient does not need to be home to accept the item. In addition, your item is insured against loss, theft, and damage up to 25 euros.
No other services can be combined with the additional service "simple registered mail".

Send important letters via registered mail. The delivery of your registered mail item will be documented in accordance with regulations applicable in the country of destination. Please note that this service does not include shipping the confirmation of receipt to the sender.

In addition, you can use your item number to track your item and its delivery status to many destinations.

Your item is also insured against loss, theft and damage for up to EUR 50. However, valuables (e.g., securities, precious metals) may only sent as insured letters.

If desired, an advice of delivery will accompany your item from the point of mailing to the point of delivery, where the recipient will sign it. The advice of delivery will be sent back to you as confirmation.

Whether you are sending securities or exclusive jewellery – your insured letter is in good hands and insured up to the specified amount. In case of theft or damage, Österreichische Post is liable for the specified amount.

This additional service is only available in combination with our Priority shipping option for international letter mail and our additional service registered mail. Insured letters must be labelled with the sticker for international registered mail. No other labelling that points to the valuable content of the item or any kind of sealing is allowed.

Capitalize on the benefits of international reply mail and pay for the recipients' postage if they reply to your international letter mail item.
International reply mail items are exchanged abroad as defined by local specifications. When exchanging an international reply mail item, clients will, after showing their international letter mail item, receive the required postage for an S letter mail item.
