What items can be sent as Info.Mail Public?

  • Information of general interest, e.g., about screening programmes
  • Legally mandated information
  • Official notifications, e.g., about road repairs
  • Official election information
  • Identical sender for all items
  • Format, weight, and content must be the same for all items
  • Identical basic item
  • Minimum volume is 500 items (additional payment to reach minimum volume available)
  • Inserts and supplements may be included (provided that all other requirements for Info.Mail Public are met)

What items cannot be sent as Info.Mail Public?

  • Invoices, payment reminders
  • Payment slips
  • Requests for the payment of membership dues, subscription fees or other fees
  • Legal decisions or other documents from administrative or legal proceedings
  • Account statements, credit information
  • Account information, e.g., PIN codes, TANs, customised or personalised access data or passwords for (online) customer accounts
  • Contractual elements or amendments 
  • Cards with ID function

Just follow these easy steps for posting Info.Mail Public items

Depending on your items' size, format, and weight, you can choose between Info.Mail Public Classic and Info.Mail Public Plus. Classic is the best option for items that are machine processable, while Plus is great for larger or heavier items as well as special formats.

Preparing Info.Mail Public Classic items for shipping

  1. Shipping documents: create your posting list and distribution list (amount of items per postcode)
  2. Pre-notification of posting: if you are posting 50,000 items or more, please notify us at least 5 business days (Monday through Friday) before posting using the Österreichische Post Shipping Tool. 
  3. Shipment sample: It is possible to send a digital shipment sample using the Shipping Tool. After uploading the shipment sample and completing the notification, you will receive confirmation by email as to whether the content of your shipment corresponds to the product you notified.
  4. Posting your items: in letter-mail containers or envelope boxes, standing upright, all addresses facing the same way.

Preparing Info.Mail Public Plus items for shipping

  1. Shipping documents: create your posting list and distribution list (amount of items per locality bundle, distribution area bundle and residual items)
  2. Pre-notification of posting:  if you are posting 10,000 items or more, please notify us at least five business days (Monday through Friday) before posting using the Österreichische Post Shipping Tool. 
  3. Shipment sample: It is possible to send a digital shipment sample using the Shipping Tool. After uploading the shipment sample and completing the notification, you will receive confirmation by email as to whether the content of your shipment corresponds to the product you notified.
  4. Posting your items: in bundles (by locality and distribution area as well as residual items), including bundle labels, tied crosswise.
